Symptoms of Alternaria canker appear on stems, leaves and fruit. Large areas of the leaf between the veins is killed, leading to leaf curling and eventual death of the entire leaf. Avoid getting leaves wet when watering to prevent infection from this fungi. Preventative fungicide sprays may also be used effectively. Alternaria should only hamper production, and should not kill the affected plant.
