Imported from a small island off the coast of China, these plants will grow indoors for years with virtually no care. Just keep the canes in an inch or two of water (Note: always use purified water, not tap water, for your lucky bamboo.) They will stay the same size, unless you give them a few drops of diluted liquid fertilizer, which will cause them to grow rapidly. It's a gift that can keep giving too: you can break off a stem and re-plant it – it will quickly root and can then be passed on to a friend.

For better Feng Shui*, count on your Lucky Bamboo to improve the flow of Chi and create harmony. It is recommended that it go on the Southeast side of the house, and/or the left back corner when facing in the office, cubicle, or living room from the door. It should be in a bright area, but not in direct sunlight. For busy office workers, the Lucky Bamboo should be placed off to one side, several inches from the edge of the desk. First remove clutter (the foe of free-flowing chi), then place your Lucky Bamboo consciously - you will notice a difference.
